The Snowball Collection
At some point in the (let's hope, distant) future, my grown children will return to the East Coast to clean out their childhood home after the event known as Glenn has come to an end.
After regaling each other with stories of their childhood home, my children will make their way downstairs where they will discover a collection of snowballs formed during their childhood and now secured in an industrial freezer in the basement.?
I confess to being overwhelmed with joy at the thought of their discovery.
Peeking into the future, I witness their discovery as Georga and Damian hold cold snow originating decades ago in Somerville, Belmont, and Harvard Square.
Perhaps eyes shall close slowly, as if plumbing a dream, when chilled palms help to unearth memories tucked deep within grey matter. And within this expanding moment, my children will understand these silly left-behind snowballs from 1999, 2000, 2004, and years thereafter are more than just things.
These snowballs - like each of us - are ongoing dynamic events, capable of delivering warmth to a place we call home.
Amazing! I wish I had thought of that.

2 周I think you were supposed to keep them in the freezer
Wow! What a beautiful idea you came up with so long ago. You always make my heart melt a little bit each year. Amazing and hope they close their eyes and dance with the memories ??
