Snippets from the Age of COVID-19: April 23, 2020.
In this time of stress, physical distancing, fear, and financial instability, it is the finding of bright spots that boost one's morale.
Such was the case when my wife heard the staccato sound of a police car on our street. She quickly ran to the front porch and saw a procession of 20 cars, each festooned with balloons and occupied with smiling people waving at everyone that they could see.
One sign was particularly touching. It read: "We missed you!" It brought tears to her eyes to see this parade of caring, manifesting itself during these troubled times.
Hope lives within the hearts and minds of all kinds of people, both friends, and strangers and special acts like these remind each one of us that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
