Snippet from Holistic Wealth
As women, we are concerned and involved with many things; so many things that we need to take a holistic approach to address what matters most. We know and experience that wealth is about more than money, in fact our physical and mental health depends on that understanding. Our inner wisdom tells us so. What matters most is how we think about money and that filter tells us what is important.
Without planning, our ideas are unsustainable.
Women are filled with wisdom derived from their values, their experiences and their contributions to friends, families and causes. This may be obvious, but what is not obvious is why so many women are so poorly equipped financially at the times in their lives when it becomes most important. ?
?What is also puzzling is how much talk there is about us (women) and money. And how many financial institutions are busy trying to crack the code that will create an avalanche of us (women) rushing into financial institutions to invest and haven’t been able to. Why aren’t women responding to financial institutions? Is it lack of education, fear of investing, or disinterest on the part of women? Or are the institutions speaking a foreign financial language with ineffective words? ?
Perhaps a combination of both, all things considered, but they are still working on it 20 years later.? I'd like to help change that by keeping an eye out for useful information that makes sense and is eye-opening.
Check out the latest article from Plan Sponsor published on Oct 5th 2016 with the tag line "Women who take breaks early in their careers face a potential retirement savings shortfall of up to $1.3 million dollars, research finds."
I have been talking about this gender gap in saving as it relates to career breaks (and other factors) for some time, and I address it in my new eBook which I will share with you soon. This article gets to the point in numbers with real-time research results- $1.3 million (per female)!!! I had to say it again!
Hopefully the work I am doing with my participant education and 401k planning will add some value for both sponsors and their employees.
Stay tuned.
