SND News: Quarantine 2020 Edition
Friends, what a year so far. What is there left to say about the strangeness, the power, the fear and rage, thrilling activism, appetite for change and limbo of the unknown which we all share, at a distance?
Earlier this week one sort of big thing happened that prompted me to give optimism another chance -- the recent announcement about the L.A. Press Club finalists for the SoCal Journalism Awards. I have three pieces in the finals, an honor which is also a prompt for a bit of nostalgia for all that we have temporarily given up. The pieces are on Shirin Neshat at the Broad for the Weekly, June Edmonds at Luis De Jesus Los Angeles for Art & Cake, and Andrea Chung at the late, great Klowden Mann also for the Cake.
As the whole world moved online, I had the chance to conduct some really interesting artist talks on digital platforms...And of course, there's always all the writing... CLICK HERE for the full March-June updates, articles, links, and videos.
awesome!
