Snapchat Launches New ‘Dual’ Camera Option, Similar to BeReal
Meta and Google are not the only ones copying TikTok. It seems TikTok is not the only target as BeReal. is currently on the rise with its option to post yourself in the current moment from your point of view.
It was just a matter of time who and when will copy this function and it seems like Snap Inc.'s new Dual Camera is pretty much exactly like #BeReal. As you can see in these examples, users will have the choice of several Dual output formats, including vertical, horizontal, picture-in-picture, and cut-out. (via Social Media Today)
Instagram Tests New ‘Add Topics’ Option in the Reels Upload Process
Instagram's Reels are becoming more and more popular and available to a much wider audience. That's why Instagram is trying out another way to refine its #Reels recommendations, with some users now able to add topics to their Reels uploads, in order to better categorize their clips. As you can see in this image, the new ‘Topics’ option aims to help you reach other users ‘who share your interests. That could provide another way for Instagram to showcase your content to a more engaged, interested audience, which could help to boost your Reels performance and help you connect with more people who are interested in your brand/content. Meta Expands NFT Display Options on Instagram and Facebook
Since Facebook dropped in users, Meta needed to find another way to get back users that would be active on a daily basis. And it seems like the NFTs are the new big thing that could give Meta's social media channels power over users again. Meta first launched its NFT display options on Instagram back in May, then expanded the test to some users on Facebook as well in June. But now, Meta will allow all users, on Facebook and Instagram, to post their NFTs in each app. Which is a little behind time, given the downward trend of the broader NFT hype cycle. Campaign of the week: Candy Crush - Gamifying the whole world
This campaign is probably in the top 5 of all I saw this year. Not just because of the creative but because of the message, that wherever you are, you can play. . Candy Crush is celebrating 10 years this year and it's estimated that there have been over 3 billion downloads of the game since 2012 (almost as much as TikTok)! The series of billboards show a range of everyday situations where patterns - similar to ones you would see in Candy Crush Saga - seem to appear, from lockers in a gym to bowling balls in an arcade, to the least fun place of all: the office! Tools for marketers: Grammarly
If you use Word or write a lot of emails on a daily basis, Grammarly is definitely for you. We're humans and it's normal to make mistakes. What's cool about Grammarly (and it comes as a Chrome extension too!) is that it corrects your text as you write. As a matter of a fact, I am using it now when writing this newsletter. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
