SNAP - A Look At Injustice In America is a detailed look at critical events in American history that affected the lives of African American people. The documentary film features the highly celebrate works of the late photographer/historian Dr. Ernest C. Withers of Memphis, Tennessee. The events include the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the Memphis Sanitation Workers Strike, the Assassination of Medgar Evers, Negro League Baseball and much more.
All of the photographic images shown in the film are on display at the Withers Collection Museum & Gallery located on world famous Beale Street in Memphis, founded by Dr. Withers’ daughter, Rosalind Withers. This film was produced and directed by award winning filmmaker, Chuck O’Bannon.? ***A historic moment for city and state leaders in Memphis. The Withers Collection Museum & Gallery has officially been added to the Tennessee and the U.S. Civil Rights Trail.
The museum is located along Beale Street and features photos taken from Memphian Ernest Withers during the civil rights movement.??“When we educate, we learn not to make those same mistakes, never to be repeated and to improve our quality of life,” said Rosalind Withers daughter of the late Dr. Earnest C. Withers?
