SMYG LIMITED Anniversary: Exploring Chaoshan and Nan’ao

Hearing is not like experiencing,

We seek Chaozhou's traditions,

Embrace Nan'ao's beauty,

Together, SMYG begins anew.

In the lingering heat of early autumn, as the city buzzes in a blend of noise and warmth, members of SZ SMYG and its Changsha branch gathered in Chaoshan for a unique and meaningful anniversary team-building trip. Together, we explored Chaoshan cuisine, experienced authentic culture, and enjoyed the sights of Nanao Island. This team-building event was not just a way to relax but also a crucial moment for strengthening team cohesion.

Chaoshan Chapter

Our first stop is Chaoshan Chendian, where the streets are lined with large billboards, earning it the nickname "West Gate of Shantou." This town has long been known for its thriving commerce in the Chaoshan region.

Embrace the Chaoshan Culture

The Double Ninth Festival is a traditional cultural parade in Chaozhou-Shantou. Each year's festivities not only preserve the unique local culture but also reflect people's wishes for a prosperous, peaceful, and harmonious life.

After checking in, the SMYG team promptly headed to the event site. The atmosphere was festive, featuring Yingge Dance, flag raising, Chaozhou drums, Chinese lion dances, and Chaozhou opera, captivating everyone present.

Savor the Chaoshan Cuisine

In addition to the traditional Chaozhou culture, the mouthwatering Chaozhou cuisine was also a highlight! Dishes like Beef Kway Teow, lotus root soup, roadside diner fare, and fried clams were abundant and enticing.

After indulging in delicious food, our exploration of Chaozhou has come to a pause.

Nan’ao Island Chapter

Leaving behind the rich traditions of Chaozhou, we set off for Nan'ao Island. After several hours on the road, we reached our destination unexpectedly.

Admire Nan'ao's Beauty

The sea breeze was cool and refreshing as we traveled along the long coastline, gazing at the waves crashing on the beach. Amid laughter and joy, we arrived at the "Turning Point of the Sun"—the Tropic of Cancer (Gateway of Nature).

After taking pictures at the Tropic of Cancer, we enjoyed the stunning views of Nan'ao Island and the thrill of yachting.

Craft Grilled Delights

As dusk approached and the sun began to set, our team-building journey reached its warmest moment—a barbecue at the Qing'ao Bay villa. Amid the rising smoke, we prepared various barbecue ingredients: chicken wings, sausages, beef balls, beef, corn, and more. Everyone pitched in to wash and skewer the food, and once the grilling began, happiness naturally followed.

As night fell, beautiful scenes unfolded before us, and delectable dishes made their debut. We gathered not only to celebrate our time together but also to express gratitude for each other's support in our work. In this moment, food and emotions intertwined, deepening our team bonds.

After indulging in the delicious barbecue, we enjoyed free time indoors with games, card activities, and classic arcade fun.

The night sky sparkled, and fireworks added a splash of color to the stars by the sea. Groups of us set off beautiful fireworks on the beach, illuminating the night sky and creating a romantic, dreamy, and hopeful atmosphere for our team-building trip.

The romance of the seaside is complemented by the sunrise. During a leisurely morning, we all chose to watch the sunrise. On the beach before dawn, a gentle breeze greeted the few early risers. As time moved slowly, the sun rose, painting the sky with brilliant hues, making it hard to open our eyes. The dawn was fleeting, and as the moment lingered, our joyful and fulfilling team-building experience came to a close.

A journey of three days and two nights,
