#smosafetyfocusday
Yesterday it has been another highlight in Siemens Mobility our path towards our #zeroharm goal with the celebration of our #smosafetyfocusday.
This time we have focused on Risk Management, one of the main duties for all managers. The employees can only be properly protected when they are always aware of her/his personal work-related risk situation (no matter if they are working in an office, service location, factory or even at home) before they start their work .
A systematic and team-based hazard identification and risk assessment are key to prevent all of them from accidents. This is also important to #movingbeyond and address corrective actions to protect our people.
The formula is simple #knowhazardknowrisknoaccident and to implement it I have visited one of our signaling projects in Barcelona, where I’ve been reviewing and discussing with my colleagues and subcontractors how we are implementing and constantly discussing risk management in the project.
It is a pleasure to share first hand and on site their feedbacks and how they do their best in avoiding risks in their daily work. We had a lively discussion with our own team and a group of installers from one of our subcontractors about how we're constantly assessing and adapting our risk management to the dynamic changes in a work environment in which many companies from different contracts are working with heavy machinery which supposes at the end of the day an additional hazard.
I also had the opportunity to connect online with other colleagues from our San Fernando Warehouse and I want to point out the commitment of all the staff to health and safety. We discussed new ideas and reflected on the fact that sometimes employees with more experience might sometimes have an excess of confidence and therefore awareness about risks and hazards is extremely important.
Thank you all you make it possible and thanks also to the Siemens Mobility colleagues in South-West Europe for their commitment in implementing these measures in their respective countries. Staying tuned with health and safety is vital.
Always #smosafetyfocusday #knowhazardknowrisknoaccident and #movingbeyond.
