Smoky Pork and Potatoes: A Robertson Family Favorite

Smoky Pork and Potatoes: A Robertson Family Favorite

Let me share a special recipe that warms both the heart and the belly. No need for a grand tale, for it's a dish meant for Yule night and cozy gatherings, or simply to savor its deliciousness on any day. This recipe is a delight, easy to prepare and oh-so-satisfying. And fear not, if your family circle grows, you can extend its warmth by adding a little extra love and ingredients.

With our clan gathered close, these comforting recipes bring us together, like a cozy blanket, during the colder seasons.

Let's fill our home with love and warmth, one dish at a time.

  • One or two smoked pork hocks sitting in about half a cup of water and 16 Oz of chicken stock.
  • One full onion, chopped.
  • One half orange pepper. Chopped or chunks if you want to remove it.
  • One half red pepper. Chopped of chunks if you want to remove it.
  • 4 carrots, cut up how you like them.
  • 2 celery stalks, cut in large chunks, unless you like to eat them. (I remove them in ours)
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced.
  • 2 large bay leaves.
  • Toss it ALL into a slow cooker for 6 hours then add 4 large cubed potatoes.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
