Swyft Cities revolutionizes mobility & transforms real estate with Whoosh transportation technology
Two great articles on how Swyft Cities is making urban transformation happen
Smithsonian Institution Magazine discusses how cable-based urban transit is a “solution to a long-developing problem”. Namely, cities that have grown so quickly they’ve run out of room to install badly-needed transit capacity. And real estate developments that want to reduce costs and make better use of land by reducing the need for parking and other car-based infrastructure.? Several cities around the world are already successfully using conventional gondolas as integral components of their urban transit networks, including Portland, Mexico City, La Paz and Medellin.
Our CEO Jeral Poskey discusses how Whoosh vehicles, which resemble conventional gondolas but bring major technology advances, significantly improve cost, speed and the ability to easily build entire networks across cities.?
Whoosh? Technology “Has a Number of Advantages”
Transportation consultant and former mobility lead for Sidewalk Labs, Andrew Miller, wrote a thorough analysis of the myriad of challenges facing transit.? His series, “The Endless Emergency” explores a range of potential solutions, including transit automation, that could improve urban density, sustainability and user experience. As part of that, Miller discussed how Whoosh could fill critical gaps in existing transit. ?He concludes that Whoosh brings a variety of advantages, including networkability that “can function as genuine transit rather than just a niche solution.”
