I recently spent a week observing the 2012 US Olympic boxing team in professional action. Errol Spence knocked out a solid, ranked fighter on Coney Island, ensuring the the welterweight will fight for a title imminently.
The following Saturday, in Anaheim, I caught middleweight Terrell Gausha notch his 19th win via questionable decision. And in between matches, during the week, I visited Jojo Diaz, who was prepping for his fight on the undercard of the Canelo-Smith HBO PPV in the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium this Saturday night.

And just a few moments of his pad-work during training:

8 年Thanks for your contribution. One thing that caught my eye when I watched him: If De La Hoya had fought as a southpaw, which he naturally was, his style would've looked like Jojo's (or vice-versa, I suppose). Of course, Oscar was a prodigy. Jojo will be his own man. He has a good team, although right now, he is trained by his father, and that can sometimes hinder a boxer's later-stage development.
