Smile and a happy mind is a wealth

If you look achieving your peace of mind, happiness is a key to pleasure of mind, nothing but some sort of feeling. When we talk about feeling or pleasure, its a perception that how you perceive something. And you can be happy with anything or even with nothing if your mind is motivated that way. There are certain areas in brain for perception of happiness. When you're happy, certain neurotransmitter like Dopamine & Serotonin are released in brain. No matter what you are, who you are, how you are, what you have & what you don't have, you're happy if these neurotransmitters are released in brain. And you will never be happy in absence of theses neurotransmitter because your brain will feel the happiness.

But, the thing is, the release of neurotransmitters of happiness depends on the external environment (i.e. external stimuli). And that's why you become happy when money comes in. Motivation is the key factor here because you're the one who has the control to make the brain decide which neurotransmitter to be released for which stimulus. This is the reason due to which money makes some people happy, but not all the people, even though, it was the same stimulus! Another thing is, can money make a person happy when has got a cancer, incurable, & he's gonna die in six month? Because, he's mind is motivated by the environmental factor (illness) and money fails to overcome it. This is why health is much more important, may be a key factor to happiness because your brain is an internal part of your health & health has the direct capacity to affect your brain.

But, again, motivation is another key factor. That's why some people are happy to be with his beloved person & some people is happy to be lonely. Someone's happy to do study & someone's happy to watch movies & play games. Even, someone's happy to watch adventure movies & someone's happy to watch romantics. The best instance to understand that happiness is nothing but the action of neurotransmitters due to various stimuli is the example of drug addiction.

Substances like smoking (nicotine), morphine, heroine, cocaine and alcohol etc are the manual/artificial means of temporary happiness. These make you happy by triggering the release of neurotransmitters of happiness in your brain & you feel happy, but for a certain period as long as the drug works. After the effect of drugs is gone, you feel melancholy due to lack of those neurotransmitters because all the available neurotransmitters are released by drug action & your neurons need to re-synthesise the neurotransmitters.

I’d say really close personal relationships; having people in your life where you both totally trust each other and deeply care about each other. The importance of strong relationships is widely recognized across positive psychology. Dennis Prager, author of “Happiness is A Serious Problem” examines all of the commonly believed myths about happiness. He concludes: “If you want to be happy, focus on doing something that is meaningful.”

I remember I was just 14 when I first got the opportunity to write an exam paper for a blind person. I had to read the questions and write answers for him. After the exam, he hugged me and said "Shukriya bhaiya ji" (Thanks for the help brother). I asked him about his result day and promised to meet him again on that day. After a week, while coming back from school, I decided to visit him and ask his result. As I knocked his door, he heard me coming by my sound, a tear rolled down his eyes. He was ranked 5th in the class, he hugged me and offered me a sweet. It was the best feeling of the world.

Its wealth!! Obviously. Second place goes to ‘something else' and the last place is to health. Even though it should be the other way around. I don't know about places all over the world, I can't even talk about the whole of our country. Just a few people that I have seen in the short span of 25 years. I feel that our people are more concerned about not repeating the clothes in marriages and other social gatherings, about ‘log kya kahenge' over simple celebrations and watching movies ‘first day first show’ even if it's not worth the money.

As far as I know the number of people who give attention to health are very less. And most of them are those who have already developed some kind of disease and are preventing further complications. The amount of people practicing or even considering primary prevention in our country are in traces. Wealth is like a fuel to a car. The more you have, the further you can go in a short time rather than stopping at gas stations of life. Fuel doesn't give you happiness; it gives you the freedom of traveling. Money is the same; it doesn't give you happiness, it allows you more freedom in life choices, which may or may not lead to happiness.

Now the question is what exactly is being successful. So this , in my view, depends on an individual according to their needs. If a person lacks happiness, he/she will give more importance to the mental peace. Now the question is what exactly is being successful. And on the other hand, if a person lacks wealth or few materialistic stuff, but he is mentally peaceful and happy, then he/she will give importance to materialistic success which includes all the bungalow ,cars, money and what not. There are people who lacks both too! So for them being successful in both the ways are important and mean a lot.

So if you ever want to define your way of success you will obviously put that thing on top, which you lack the most. And this goes on and on. Because human craves for more and more at each step of the life. And on the other hand, if a person lacks wealth or few materialistic stuff, but he is mentally peaceful and happy, then he/she will give importance to materialistic success which includes all the bungalow ,cars, money and what not. There are people who lacks both too! So for them being successful in both the ways are important and mean a lot. Cheers!
