Smile Because It Happened: Your Storytelling Power

Smile Because It Happened: Your Storytelling Power

The Storyteller's Spotlight #23

For 3 weeks, I have been driving across the country. While stopped at a red light in St. Louis, Missouri, I notice this quote on the back of a red pickup truck.

I feel a spark of energy...

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

It's a quote by Dr. Seuss.- writer of The Lorax, The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Oh, the Places You'll Go! and more.

Every person on this planet experiences the rollercoaster of life...

Although we are on different tracks at the given time.

These experiences, good and bad, shape us.

The beauty of storytelling, as I've discovered for 10+ years, comes from the power of reflection and self-awareness.

? Extracting the meaning and purpose of your experiences

? Learning and growing from these experiences

? Sharing your wisdom with others

Even though your experiences are over, your stories will live on forever.

They connect, educate, and inspire your listeners with a clear message.

So be grateful for your experiences- good, bad, and ugly.

Learn to tell your story and unlock a universe of possibilities.

Always, remember to Smile Because It Happened.

Incredible piece, David! Our experiences can be good, bad, or even ugly. When we learn and use storytelling, it'll be the vehicle to incapsulate an experience that people can often relate to or want to be a part of. Dr. Seus had a lot of great quotes, indeed. :)
