This webinar is being jointly organised by ADS Group, UK Defence & Security Exports at the Department for Business and Trade, and the Pakistan High Commission in London, as part of a short series of information webinars on a number of prospective markets around the World, to promote greater awareness of the potential commercial opportunities there are for UK firms to do business there predominantly in the defence and security sectors.

Trade Mission to Brazil – Renewables, Energy Transition and Industry Decarbonisation
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) in Brazil is pleased to invite UK companies active in the Renewables, Energy Transition and Industry Decarbonisation to participate on the Trade Mission to Brazil which will coincide with the 11th edition of the DBT conference UK & Brazil Partners in Energy, in Rio de Janeiro. The trade mission will take place on 8 - 9 October 2024.
BMT Supports MCS with Redesign and Innovation in SWATH CTV at Seawork 2024
Since its launch in 2019, Maritime Craft Services Clyde Ltd (MCS) SWATH 2 vessel has successfully supported MCS’s offshore wind operations. ?To reduce the environmental impact of the vessel and improve machinery space accessibility, MCS has partnered with BMT, a leader in maritime design, engineering, and consultancy, to upgrade the propulsion plant. These modifications will reduce GHG emissions, bolster MCS SWATH 2’s capabilities, and extend its operating cycle. ?
Marine Measurement Forum 66?
The 2024 Marine Measurement Forum (MMF) takes place on Wednesday 19th June at the National Oceanography Centre.?MMF provides excellent opportunities for networking and the informal exchange of ideas, knowledge, techniques and developments across an extensive range of marine scientific measurement activities. Emma Johnson, SMI's Marine Science and Technology Group and Maritime Autonomous Systems Group Director will be in attendance at the event next week.?Registration is still open.?
Marine Autonomy Showcase (MATS) 2024 - Abstract Submissions Close 5th July?
The 10th edition of MATS is seeking abstracts from across 4 key themes for consideration. This includes early careers or newly qualified engineers/technicians as we actively seek to enable the next generation to begin their journey. The themes are as below:?

SMI publishes Vision for Maritime manifesto?
The Society Maritime of Industries (SMI) has launched its manifesto ahead of the general election, setting out its vision for the maritime sector over the next five years.
As an island nation with an economy dependent on a prosperous maritime sector, the UK finds itself competing on the international stage to attract investment in shipbuilding and develop innovative technologies. Against this backdrop, SMI has decided to outline its vision for the future of maritime that acknowledges the sector’s past achievements and analyses current opportunities, putting forward a number of ideas on key themes including the environment, competitiveness, skills and regulation
DTG Seminar: Digital’s Role in Decarbonisation and Environmental Sustainability
We are delighted to invite you to SMI’s Digital Technology Group (DTG) seminar on “Digital’s Role in Decarbonisation and Environmental Sustainability.” This event will delve into the many ways that digital innovations are transforming the maritime industry and driving us towards a more sustainable future.

Nor-Shipping 2025: UK Pavilion Registration Open
Join us at Nor-Shipping 2025, as part of the UK Pavilion. Building on the success of Nor-Shipping 2023 and numerous international pavilions since, SMI will once again be managing the UK Group of exhibitors in a high-traffic area of Hall D.?
Both exhibition stands and meet-and-greet pods are available to book. On joining Nor-Shipping 2023 as a UK Pavilion exhibitor, BMT described the experience as? 'very well organised, with excellent support from SMI. The UK Pavilion is improving year on year!'
In addition to stand presence, a core part of the UK Pavilion offering is enhanced brand visibility and networking support. Plans for Nor-Shipping 2025 include a UK Pavilion welcome reception at a minimum.
The deadline for booking is 22nd November 2024. Booking early is advised, as Nor-Shipping is a highly sought-after show and it is not typically possible to up our space allocation.? A mockup of the 2025 UK Pavilion layout is below.?
Sea Asia 2025: UK Pavilion Exhibition Pods Available
After successfully organising a sold-out UK Pavilion at Sea Asia 2023, SMI will once again be organising and managing a UK Pavilion at?Sea Asia 2025.?
?In addition to the exhibition stand offer and in response to positive feedback, we have also made a provision for a number of meet and greet pods within the UK Pavilion.
An affordable alternative, a ‘Meet and Greet’ Pod allows companies to exhibit in a shared space in the UK Pavilion at a reduced rate.
Each Pod comes with:
1 x lockable cupboard, 1x stool, 1 x electrical power outlet, spotlight, graphic printing, shared use of brochure racks and access to meeting tables and chairs.
Full details of the Sea Asia 2025 UK Pavilion offer can now be found on our website. Booking quickly is of prime importance as it is normally impossible to increase our space allocation, the show will be sold out and last year's UK Pavilion allocation was reserved quickly.?
