SMH and Age Story
Occurring at the same time as the airing of the groundbreaking ABC TV series Employable Me, Ostara Australia has just had some great coverage in the SMH and Age on their work assisting people living with mental health issues to obtain and retain employment.
After working in the field I believe that with the right amount of support that all DES eligible clients can be assisted to obtain sustainable employment (across the board in all DES providers at present only about 30% make it to this stage). I would love to get the sponsorship to run what I have called the "Biggest Winner" project (very film-able) choosing 10 of our DES clients at random and then with no budgetary restriction and a crack team get them all into suitable employment. Would be pretty costly what I have in mind, but from an actuarial point of view it would have a huge ROI.

6 年So true. Everyone is employable it may take longer to reach this goal for some but with the right help and someone believing in their abilities they will gain employment.

6 年Some outstanding progress in this important area of inclusiveness in employment, after much positive attention on inclusiveness through sport in the games.
