Featured Alum: Rachel Cinnamon McGarry ('18 EMBA), Senior Pricing Analyst, Staples Corporate
Rachel is a Senior Pricing Analyst at Staples’ Corporate Headquarters in Framingham, Massachusetts, where she supports the US Retail Pricing organization. She currently leads operations for a strategic pricing initiative aimed at leveraging data-driven technology to better inform decisions about regular prices in stores. This role draws on Rachel's professional background supporting large-scale change management projects and on-boarding new technologies. Prior to joining Staples, Rachel worked for General Motors in the Global Business Solutions (Finance) group, where she supported global initiatives to streamline financial reporting, improve the company's cash flow management, and build structures to ensure cross-functional alignment at all levels of the organization. Rachel is also an active member of Staples' Women Who Lead employee resource group, supporting the fellow female leaders throughout the organization. Rachel says, "I love working for large organizations where I can collaborate with people in vastly different functional areas. My Smeal education gave me the foundation and broad understanding that enables me to be successful in these cross-functional environments." Rachel attributes her success to the skills she developed pursuing an Executive MBA at Penn State, as well as a Master of Arts in Economics at Fordham University. Rachel's career advice is to succeed, you must be present. Regardless of your job title, every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow. You must be present to capture the most out of your journey, because that uniqueness is your competitive advantage. #WeAre
