BBX International has launched its first ever resource, BConnect, designed to encourage micro business and small business growth, post COVID-19.
COVID-19 has forced many small businesses and entrepreneurs to pivot in their business direction, with many of them registering micro businesses from home during lockdown.
A recent study indicated as much as 14% of the population had engaged in the gig economy at some point, a booming market Bconnect aims to support, that has only gotten larger as a result of COVID-19.*
The BConnect resource helps SME and independent contractors prosper by providing them with access to services without having to provide a financial exchange.
BConnect and its online platform allows members to swap goods and services, being designed to accommodate a vast range of styles of members, providing assistance for micro to small businesses.
BConnect can also be used as an additional revenue stream for small business operators as they share their skills with other groups.
As a result, BConnect not only assists people with trading their skills but is a source of additional work and employment considering 32% of businesses are replacing full-time employees with contingent workers (including freelancers and gig workers) to cut down on costs where they can.*
Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Caroline McDonald, believes BConnect is the answer for small enterprise issues, stating micro businesses need the service to support their growth and development during uncertain times.
“We are committed to building a world of economic opportunities for our partners by dismantling the barriers to economic growth.”
“With the increase in individuals exploring micro businesses and gig economy employment, now more than ever is there a need to support these businesses to ensure everyone has the opportunity to improve their financial situation during and post COVID-19 restrictions.
“The pandemic has forced businesses to scale back with some owner operator businesses working harder than ever to make ends meet and secure the operations of their business.
“BConnect allows businesses to trade in another currency that can be seen as another source of funds. This gives businesses an opportunity to earn real value for their swaps goods.
“By connecting via the BConnect platform, SME has access to business mentors and advisors and reduces the risk,” Mrs McDonald said.
BConnect is set to launch in March 2021 alongside major partnership groups and with no joining fee.
