A multi-functional walk?
As a PhD candidate who arrived in Singapore three days before the organized hike, I was quite excited to already get the chance to network and get to know interesting people here in this city. I was invited by my flatmate and appreciated this opportunity a lot. At first, I was cautious because I did not know what to expect. However, my curiosity won and I quickly got involved in conversations with other people that signed up for the hike.
The rules for the hike were easy to understand and I could talk with four people in a bit more detail. Four different but on their very own way interesting students made this walk around the beautiful lake a nice and social time. Doing a bit of exercises was connected with a friendly talk in which I learned about the background and professional life of my hiking companions. I love the idea of going to a different place every week, meeting new people and old friends while moving my body. It’s a great, activating and multi-functional way to start into the weekend.
I will definitely join this event again whenever I have time.
Thanks for this lovely and mindful experience.
