Smash Your To Do List in 30 Days and 7 Steps

It's the first day of Spring and this can be a great time to draw a line in the sand and reset things in your business. It's also a great time to smash through the outstanding To Do List so you can be ready for an awesome final quarter of 2017 (Oct -Dec).

So here's my 30 Day Smash the List in 7 Simple Steps Strategy:

1. Spend today brainstorming all those tasks you've either been putting off because you don't want to do them or haven't had the time because other things have gotten in the way.

I use post it notes so I can quickly and easily see what I've got.

2. Then prioritise them into the Top 30 which need to be done using these questions as the qualifiers to determine its true importance.

Will it make me more money? If Yes then do it

Will it save me time? If Yes then do it

Will it reduce my stress levels? If Yes then do it.

Any No answers - these tasks go to the Parked List - see Step 4.

3. Write down or move your post it notes to a Top 30 To Do List.

4. Review your 'Parked List' to determine what can be done by only YOU then delegate everything else.

5. Then every day (including today) complete 1 task. And I would suggest doing it as your first task of the day - before emails - so it actually gets done.

6. Then at the end of the month, you will have everything crossed off your list that needed to be done to either save you time, make you more money or reduce your stress.

7. On Day 30, review your Parked List of tasks to see if either they still need to be done (important), are no longer necessary (delete/cross off/throw out) or can be done by someone else.

Then Rinse and Repeat this process every month to help you start working on what's truly important and needed within your business, rather than spending time on The List without any thought to: Is this the best use of my time?

I'd love to hear what you smash through each day and to help with this, I'll also provide some updates on what I've gotten off my list.

Today I went into the Apple Store and then to Telstra to sort out my Iphone and what's needed to get a new phone - something that's been on my list for months and I'd been avoiding it because I didn't want the hassle.

But I got great staff who were very helpful so now I can take the next steps.

And that's all it's about - sometimes we have to just take the first step in a task (which seems huge and stressful) so we can get to the next one which is often easier.

Best of luck in your 30 DAY CHALLENGE.
