SmartE gets a strategic partner in Mitsui, closes its Series B funding

Earlier today, we at SmartE announced the close of our Series B funding. And I couldn't be more delighted to welcome on board one of Japan's and world's largest diversified conglomerates, Mitsui & Co, as our strategic partner. What makes this fund raise so special is that Mitsui will bring to SmartE, multiple synergies through its existing businesses in the Electric Mobility domain around the world to enable the company for long-term growth.

While SmartE has been a pioneer in offering shared electric mobility services in the country, it needed a partner that had the same long-term vision and commitment that our company was founded on.

Mitsui and SmartE both share common values, that of sustainable business growth while creating a positive impact on the society we live in.

At SmartE we are committed to transforming the last-mile connectivity paradigm in the country and to creating a global benchmark for electric mobility adoption at scale.

Me and my entire team at SmartE are extremely excited about this next phase of growth, learning and impact. This partnership couldn't have come at a better time, a time which we believe is clearly an inflection point for electric mobility, especially in the last-mile, to take off dramatically.

35 million rides and nearly 5 years later, at SmartE, we believe we have only just got started!!!

Congratulations Goldie. Great going.
