Global Survey: Medical/ Dental Students Feel Unprepared To Use AI In Their Future Careers

A global survey involving over 4,500 medical, dental, and veterinary students from 192 faculties across 48 countries found that while students hold positive attitudes toward the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare and strongly desire more AI education, they possess limited knowledge about AI and feel unprepared to use it in their future careers. This is largely due to a lack of AI courses in their curricula, with 76.3% reporting no AI education. The study highlights the need to integrate AI education into medical curricula worldwide, taking into account regional differences in perceptions and educational needs.
