Smart India Hackaton (SIH) 2019 @ New Delhi Institute of Management

Smart India Hackathon 2019 is a nationwide hackfest, an initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of major problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of disruptive problem solving.

The last edition SIH18 witnessed over 5 million+ students competing for the top prize at 35+ locations.

This edition students would also acquire the opportunity to work on challenges faced within the top private sector organisations and create disruptive yet innovative solutions for some of the top companies in the world, thus making the Private sector hire the best talents from across the nation.

What exactly is Smart India Hackathon 2019?

• A collaborative initiative by Ministry of HRD, AICTE, Persistent Systems, i4c and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini
• It involves 1 Lakh+ technical students, 3000+ technical institutes, and over 200+ organizations nationwide.
• World's biggest Software and Hardware hackfest
• This is the third edition of SIH
• Technical Students competes to design creative solutions to very complex day to day problems.

SIH: Where students are hacking for a change

An initiative by the Government of India, Smart India Hackathon, is the world’s biggest ever open innovation model. It also aims to enter the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records as the world’s biggest Hackathon till date with 360,000 hours of continuous innovation effort by 10,000 students.

A unique event, While trying to bring changes that impact various sectors, we are also aiming to create a world record.

Students will be finding solutions to the problems of 29 union ministries and government departments of india.

“To ensure that solutions for change are achieved through the hackathon, we have a team of over 30 staff member and students volunteering through the 36 hours span and aiding the participants. We also have coordinators working round the clock to address issues and manage the event. This being an event of a large scale, we are trying to achieve the most we can from it, ”says Rajendra Sharma from New Delhi Institute of Management, which had been appointed as the official Nodal centre for the Hackathon in Delhi. “This is a unique event and while trying to bring changes that impact various sectors we are also aiming to create a world record at the same time. All of us at NDIM believe that such initiatives are key to social change and are happy to play a key role in it.”
