Smart ideas from smart people go beyond those language barriers

Ideas are the greatest gift bestowed upon us - the humans, and are those real triggers that have driven us to move heaven and earth by putting them into action.

Whether it is brainstorming, discussions or the conversations inside those heated war-rooms, we all are driving our brains crazy to generate those creative, disruptive and transformational ideas that would fuel the next big thing or address the problems that we are facing in a permanent way.

The only criteria that you need to qualify to generate ideas is you need to have a curious mind, a mind that get filled with tons of questions and the deep quest to seek answers to all of them, solutions to those problems that stare at you.

Age, religion, country and even the native language that we speak, stand no barrier to the quality and quantity of ideas that we can generate.

Be it a welder, fitter, mechanic, operator, nurse, teacher, doctor, lawyer, a cab driver or even a security at your office gate, everyone has this awesome gift of being able to share smart, innovative ideas and join together in addressing issues, problems and challenges that lie ahead of all of us.

The first time I happened to visit a shop floor at one of our greatest ever customers, I got to meet and shake hands with the real smart people who day-in and day-out are working hard, shoulder to shoulder along side those heavy machines and tough environment conditions to build quality products that eventually end up serving the world. What really got me quite excited was their desire and a serious intent to come forward and share their views, ideas, opinions and feedback with their seniors on a regular basis and all of this being driven by their willingness to improve not just their own work environment, but also to ensure that the products they make are of the highest quality standards than ever.

It's is with this collective and collaborative growth mindset that they keep walking up to their workstations each day, with a renewed enthusiasm and energy, just to add even more value than what they had done the previous day.

I must say, it has been such a pleasure and learning to get the opportunity of working with such folks over a period of last 12-14 months where we actually evolved our SaaS based innovation tool - Indonis Smart Ideas to a level where today, any and every employee, right from the shop floor to the top floor, can share his / her smart, innovative ideas in a language that he / she is comfortable with (English, Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati etc.) and actually never allowing expressing idea to be the constraint.

Whenever such ideas are shared, a team of experts gets to review them and share their feedback and ratings within minutes (and not hours or days), thereby passing back and adding even more positive, morale boosting energy through a much needed acknowledgement and encouragement. It's these tiny little gestures and incremental actions from the top management and the people who matter, that helps to spread the sense of urgency and agility and a feeling of respect and importance that goes a long way in driving accountability, ownership and commitment across the entire work force.

It gives me and my team, immense pride and satisfaction that, with each new idea shared on the Indonis platform, we are helping build trust, belonging and engagement between the innovator and the organisation. Surely, it cannot get any bigger and better than this.
