Claudio Simao Chief Technology Officer at Hexagon stated that we need to process the data that best fits the needs of the city. We need to give permission to, 'cross the bridge', and close the gap in data through crowd sourcing that can lubricate the shared economy and change the actions of the cities actors. Crowd sourcing is a priority, we need to consider the digitisation of the city and ask how interoperability of different processes can be optimised?
Claudio stated that we know that cities are living breathing and dynamic organisms and modern cities have process flows that at present that are not being optimised. If we can link this process through a strong platform, the systems that at present are not communicating and optimised can create healthy, living and vital cities and places. With an optimised digital platform we could easily get benefits as opposed to stand alone systems – we need interoperability.
Technology without an human dimension is cold and dead. People and our communities drive the world around us in terms of empowerment and the creation of social, operational, economic capital, etc. Until this becomes a meme throughout all cities you will be just dealing with a collection of technologies.
