Washington, DC — [03 June, 2024] — With our team preparing to convene with sector leaders in Adelaide, Australia, for Smart Cities Council - Asia Pacific Smart Cities Week APAC in August, we are proud to announce the appointment of three distinguished experts to our Global Thought Leadership team. This expansion marks a significant step in our ongoing mission to drive positive change and innovation across various sectors, enhancing the future of smart cities worldwide.
Michelle Price joins us as the Cybersecurity Risk Lead. Michelle is a co-founder of Geomastery Advisory and an adviser to Essential Energy, Boston Global Group, Humanico, Cynch Security, Detexian, the AWSN - Australian Women in Security Network, and SXSW Sydney . She also serves on the board of OSG Australia and is a member of several advisory committees, including the ARC Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology's Advisory Committee, the ACDA - Active Cyber Defence Alliance Inc.'s Advisory Committee, and The Aspen Institute’s Global Cyber Working Group.
Previously, Michelle was a Partner with EY Australia, supporting public sector clients and startups. She has held leadership roles such as Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Committee on Cybersecurity and Executive Director and CEO of AustCyber, where she significantly expanded Australia’s cybersecurity industry. Her experience also includes strategic and risk management roles within the Australian Government, contributing to major national security initiatives and policies.
Bobby P. , an executive leader in the telecommunications industry, joins us from Business Technology and Investments (BTI LLC) as a thought leader in Smart Cities and Smart Bases. Bobby's expertise spans 5G Digital Infrastructure Modernization, NextG, On-The-Move Mobile Communications Networks, and NBIoT over SATCOM. With over 25 years of experience, Bobby has led numerous groundbreaking projects, including developing Air Force Logistics Strategies, architecting mobile communications networks for military operations, and spearheading 5G initiatives for smart cities and ports. Bobby also works with Youngstown State University and the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), teaching and developing their 5G Readiness Training Program.
BTI, a consulting firm based in Miami, Florida, specializes in creating innovative telecommunication solutions for both public and private sectors. Their notable projects include collaborations with the Pentagon, FEMA, and leading corporations like NextNav, Digital Global Systems (DGS), ViaSat, Deloitte, Makai Defense, and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Dr Delton Chen joins us as a thought leader in Climate Change, Climate Policy, and Carbon Market Trends. Dr. Chen is the developer of the “Global Carbon Reward” policy and the concept of “carbon quantitative easing” by central banks. His innovative approaches aim to address the funding gap for the Paris Climate Agreement and manage climate-related systemic risks. Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia, and has extensive experience in groundwater management, environmental impact assessment, geothermal energy, and climate mitigation.
