Smart apps: 12 productivity boosters applications
Working on a mobile device isn't so easy. Despite having a true computer on the palm of your hands, you'll often find yourself very frustrated by the experience.
As a big phone user, I want to share with you my 12 favorite mobile applications for productivity.
1. Pocket
Ok, here is the thing: when you're on your smartphone, it's often because you are going from point A to point B. It's a very small timebox but you can use it to read the articles you found on theweb but didn't have any time to read ad the moment.
You are using the subway? No problem, Pocket downloads the text so you can access it offline.
You are driving? Just listen to the text then ;)
2. Google Drive
We know for a fact you won't be writing that big ass specifications document on your mobile phone. But you can still make small corrections, add some comments or share the document to your colleagues at the office.
If you are on a tablet, then Google Drive will become your best friend giving you all the tools your need for professional document writing and management.
3. Appear.in
You have a quick video meeting? Don't waste time, switch to appear.in. The video meeting solution is lighter, faster and better than Skype or your corporate Microsoft Lync application.
4. Slack and Hipchat
Both are great tools for coporate instant messaging. Drop traditionnal tools and have your teams on Slack or on Hipchat. You'll be able to create chatrooms for your projects and the communications will be very smooth and easy.
And off course, the mobile applications of both Slack and Hipchat are working like a charm.
5. Airdroid and iMessages
Just logged in on the computer but you keep receiving SMS or other mobile-only notifications? If you have an iPhone, simply make sure your computer is synced with iMessages so you can take care of theses with the comfort of a big screen and a keyboard.
If you're on Android, then a more powerfull solution is Airdroid. It allows on your phone almost everything with the ease of the computer. From answering a text to installing an app.
6. Captain Train and Busbud
Do you or your team travel a lot? If you are going by train our by bus make sure to book your trip through this apps. They are fast, simple and very efficient. No more endless "next" buttons just to purchase a ticket. This is by far the most convenient way to book a trip for a large group or just for yourself.
I can't wait for an app as easy as that for flights.
7. Trello
There are tons of task management solutions out there. Some are very task oriented, others are more complex. Trello is the best compromise between personnal todolists and project management solutions.
And the applications is a must-use!
8. Inbox
I'm pretty sure you already have read about inbo zero and other mail management methodologies. Inbox is a beta application by Google that takes the best of it.
You want feel the pressure to respond all the emails you receives and be glad to help for urgent or very important matters. All that, without the trouble of setting up a whole new methodoly by yourself.
9. Facebook pages manager
If you own the business, you know how critical it can be to answer in a timely fashion to your consumers. Make it easy for you by installing the official Pages Manager from Facebook.
10. Agile Tasks
You tried Trello and this is still not fast enough for you to get things done? Try Agile for Android and you'll be able to manage your task all from the notification bar. You can't be faster than that.

11. Chrome Remote Desktop
If you forget to do something quick that can only be done on your office computer, instead of going to the offices, simply log to your computer through this applications and get the job done.
12. Chromecast
This one is my favorite: Display your work anytime on any support: TV, projector, etc. All you need is the famous Google HDMI dongle and the application.
This is perfect for meeting and demos.
