Smart Applications International trains 1600 healthcare workers, covering 900 hospitals in a quest to drive Digital Readiness for UHC implementation
Nairobi, Kenya – [26th September 2024] – Smart Applications International (Smart ) recently hosted a highly successful Kenya Medical Services Providers Webinar, focused on driving awareness around how technology continues to transform the healthcare sector. The event saw an impressive turnout, with over 1,600 participants and representatives from 900 hospitals in attendance.
In line with the Government of Kenya Digital Transformation journey, the healthcare players readiness and adoption of digital health solutions provides essential backbone towards Universal Healthcare realization. The session showcased comprehensive range of healthcare technology solutions designed to drive seamless digitalization in the healthcare industry. These solutions that have significantly improved operational efficiency, patient satisfaction, and service delivery across the healthcare value chain in African countries.
In his opening remarks, Harrison Muiru, Group Managing Director of Smart Applications International, expressed his appreciation, stating, “We serve 30,000 patients daily on our platform, and record an expenditure of 8 USD per second on our system in partnership with healthcare facilities and medical insurers across 12 countries in Africa. Many citizens still face barriers such as long wait times, limited availability of specialists, slow settlement periods from payers, and inefficient systems. These challenges, however, present an opportunity for technological solutions to play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of healthcare transformation.
