SMARKETING PRINCIPLE 1 - CLARITY

Otherwise Known As Principle 1 of 5


Clarity earns the top spot on my smart #marketing list not just because it's "the thing" you absolutely need before taking action on promoting your offer.

It's the behemoth because it's the thing most likely to shift and change.

Based on what you learn while you're in the trenches serving who you #serve.

New concepts you adopt that produce better #results.

Ideas that smack you over the head as you're drifting off to sleep.

If there's one principle of marketing that's more subject to changing and editing, I haven't found it yet.

Getting clear, as I eluded to before, involves more than your #message. It involves knowing...

  1. Your ideal client profile (aka your #avatar)
  2. The signature #solution you offer to solve their painful problem (one problem at a time please)
  3. Your stand out statement (who you serve and your unique method of serving them)
  4. The #words you choose to present that solution (speak to them like you're reading a page from their diary)
  5. The #medium you use to get your message out there (which goes back to knowing your avatar and where they hang-out #online)
  6. What you ask them to do to continue moving towards your magical solution (a #CTA that's not too big of an ask and requires them to interact in a more meaningful way)
  7. Goals you want to achieve with the #promotion you're running (I'm talking about making friends with your #data here)
  8. Relevant #concepts you know you'll need to share to #educate your ideal peeps
  9. Who you can contact to help you spread the good word about your good work
  10. Deciding who should do what on your team, how they should do it, and how long it should take them to complete
  11. How to bundle all of these steps together so you get the results you seek

Kind of a lot to take in, isn't it?  What's crazy is this list isn't exhaustive either. 

If it seems a tad bit overwhelming to you, I completely get it. 

Some people see trees, others see the forest. Then there's weirdos like me that see it all, from a 30,000-foot view.
