My Favorite Holiday Traditions

The holiday season is a time of joy, warmth, and cherished traditions that bring families and friends together. Among the myriad of festive customs, my favorite Christmas tradition holds a special place in my heart — decorating my white Christmas tree while listening to the soulful sounds of Luther Vandross's "Every Year, Every Christmas."

The moment the calendar flips to December, I decide on my color scheme for the season, then I search through my garage, at my own risk, to search eagerly for my ornaments and carefully arrange them on my pristine white Christmas tree. My tree this year is adorned with red and gold baubles that sparkle with a magical glow that fills the room with holiday cheer. I leave my lights on day and night.

As I hang each ornament, my Alexa voice fills the air with the timeless melodies of soulful Christmas music. The harmony and lyrics capture the essence of the season, reminding me of the importance of love, togetherness, and reflection during this festive time. Another favorite holiday song is “There’s No Christmas Without You” by Kirk Franklin and Family.

Whatever your holiday tradition, enjoying time with family is priceless.
