How are you preparing your business for life post Pandemic?
If your business is slow, use this time to look inward. How can you use this time to get better at running your business? If you have extra cash, could you invest in used equipment from another business shutting down? I suggest looking at three of the most common problem areas…..human capital, business operations, and your product or service offering. Consider the following questions:
People: Who do you have in your organizations? What will their roles be post Covid-19? Will they all have a role post Covid-19? This might be a good time to develop new job descriptions and restructure your team.
Processes: Look at your core business operations. Work on improving and optimizing your organization's business processes, supported by the appropriate technology, which might include invoicing/collections, CRM, and marketing automation systems. Your analysis should address the full gamut of factors, including competitive challenges and economic pressures, and your supply chain.
Products/services: What are your current products and services? How are you delivering them? How will you be positioned in the next 2-4 years? How will your customers need you to produce in the future? Are you prepared to meet future demand?
I really think this a great time to retool your business. This week’s featured article is How to Leverage this Pandemic Slowdown to Boost Your Business.
