The SmallBizLady Buzz - Issue 123

If your digital marketing strategy hasn't been improving your company's bottom-line, there are 5 reasons why your strategy isn't converting leads or sales.

You are Spreading Yourself Too Thin

You need to know who your best target customer is, and it’s critically important to know where your niche customers spend on time online. Every business owner has limited time and resources. So that means, you only need to invest time in one or two social media sites to engage your target customers.

You're Not Using SEO

Search Engine Optimization is all about driving organic search traffic to your business website. When implementing a strong SEO strategy, you produce high-quality content that's regularly updated and relevant to your target customers. Each piece of content is keyword-optimized, including the headline and description to be the answer to your target client's issues, which drives web traffic.

You Forgot the (Social) in Social Media

You need to have a strong social media presence, but you need to focus on engagement, not friends or followers. A strong social media presence is engaging. How can your nurture your audience?

Your Content Isn't Customer-Focused.

If you're only focused on search results, and not on your target audience, you will have a tough time creating raving fans who gladly share your content and coming back to your site regularly. People are looking for actionable content that helps them solve a problem. Keep your customers top of mind as you think about the content topics you want to address.

You're Not Leveraging Your Analytics

One of the best ways to improve your digital marketing strategy is to review your website analytics on a monthly basis. If you don't review your analytics regularly, you won't know what marketing activities are driving visitors to your website or which type of content appeals most to your target audience.

If you tighten up these issues in your business, your social media marketing efforts will convert at a much higher rate.
