A small step towards Liminal Thinking!
We all are brought up in environments where we end up creating a belief based on the experiences we go through or based on hearing them from our fellow beings. The belief gets so much hardcoded in our brain that we endure making our decisions/judgments based on our beliefs unconsciously.
I always labeled myself that I am not smart enough, always worried about what people might think about me. What if I am wrong? What if people talk on my back and make fun of me. I always wished to share my learning’s, experiences through my writings and gain more insights but my self-doubt always blocked me from doing any of this.
My mind was always occupied with the negative thoughts like What if I write something which might not be correct or if people ask questions and I won’t be able to answer. All these thoughts only lowered my confidence and made me frustrated.
One of the challenges, resolution every year for me was to overcome this fear, break my threshold, my belief system to bring the change in myself and share my writings and dare to receive the criticism and learn from it and get better. Year after year I failed. I have been working to overcome this and looking for opportunities, choices which can help me boost my confidence and change myself for quite some years.
The art of creating change by understanding, shaping and reframing beliefs is called Liminal Thinking. Liminal Thinking book by Dave Gray was of great insight which helped me to break my threshold/belief and helped me to come up with this write up today. Here I stand wherein I am not worried about what people think, rather welcoming them to share their story where they broke the threshold and did something different and ready to receive/accept the feedback/comments and learn from it.
I have tried to be a Liminal Thinker and wish to continue to apply it in every possible way. How about you? Are you a Liminal Thinker? Do you know Liminal thinking helps you get better at System Thinking? Give a Try! With this said I hope to continue my journey on my writing and gain more insight from all my friends, colleagues, dear ones.
Happy New Year 2020!
