Small Self-Improvements Can Lead To Bigger Results!

Small Self-Improvements Can Lead To Bigger Results!

Let’s be honest … many of us make big New Year’s resolutions every year that we think we can manage and achieve. But then life gets busy, and the majority of us procrastinate and eventually abandon those goals. However, it’s possible to make adjustments and start small!?

When planning for much-needed self-improvement, let’s start addressing the top priorities. Our physical, emotional, and mental health must be high on the list. This is when making time for yourself becomes an important part of the overall plan. But where would you find the time??

Get more organized each day. The household calendar we featured last month can help with this. Use a calendar to plan ahead for your daily and weekly activities together with the rest of the household. Place it in a high-traffic area like the kitchen, then, everyone in the house can see whats planned for the week ahead.

Take advantage of the little moments you have to yourself throughout the day. Start by doing breathing exercises while walking around the house. A few minutes here and there, two or three times a day is a valuable effort. Again … baby steps can still be effective and more importantly, easy to do.

The more you focus on time management, the more time you can earn for yourself later. You may be able to find time to walk outside, run on a treadmill or do yoga. Why not a gym membership? Dressing for, and commuting to the gym can take up valuable time for those who need all the time they can get.

These are just a few examples of taking small steps toward bigger goals. But be mindful and determined to do these activities with or without anybody in tow. While having a supportive teammate can help, you need to be in control of your own resolutions.

For keeping up with your mental wellness goals, play more board games or trivia games when socializing with friends. If you'd rather do it on your own, try downloading brain game apps like Wordle!, Two Dots, or Lumosity. You could also set a goal to read your favorite magazines and books. Remember, learning is a lifelong journey!

However, if you’re still feeling down, then it’s time to address your relationships. Your partner, relatives, friends, neighbors, co-workers, bosses, or anyone in between may be weighing you down. Don’t ignore the signs, listen and trust your gut feeling.
