A small reminder...

About 35 years ago I started to notice these tall white poles on my travels around the globe. After some inquiring, I found out that they were called Peace Poles. Once I noticed my first one, I started to “find” them everywhere; on mountainsides, in churchyards, outside pubs in the U.K.
Peace Poles were created as a symbol of hope and peace. You can chose between four and eight languages (out of over 1,000) for your Peace Pole, all of which read May Peace Prevail on Earth.
The May Peace Prevail On Earth International initiative is pretty cool and pretty relevant right now.
I see mine in the garden every day. Mine is in English, German, Norwegian and Hawaiian. I get excited when I see a new one in my travels, and it's a nice reminder to take a moment and consider my own actions, the way I interact with others, even the way I lead.
In this day of everything being "for fee" - you even have to respect the trademark of the phrases, "You cannot be serious," "That's Hot" and even "Bam" - their approach to their trademarked phase is also refreshing:
"May Peace Prevail On Earth is a registered trademark of May Peace Prevail On Earth international. ?It can be freely used to promote peace."
This week's update is nothing more than a small reminder to take care of yourself and those around you. Also, wishing you Peace.

1 年Thanks for this Kevin. I have never seen one of these poles but I absolutely love the idea. Now I will be on the lookout and I hope to find many out there in the world because we can certainly all use a reminder to contribute to peace.
