"One way to keep momentum going is to have constantly greater goals." - Michael Korda
What is Momentum?
In physics, momentum can simply be described as something that moves a certain way as a product of its mass and velocity. In this case, specifically, we can refer to momentum as something which propels us forward in to a more prosperous position.
Lets start in Early 2017
At the age of 22, I started understanding the term "momentum" and what was propelling me forwards and backwards in my own life. I became cognisant with the fact that the force worked either way and could act as a future hinderance if you allowed enough momentum to push you backwards.
Once aware of this, I also started to notice the importance of decision making. I became focused on making decisions that I would later benefit from in my life.
However, this was easier said than done and has taken me years of development.
Like a wave, you can surf momentum into success or you could come crashing down with it.
Choosing what momentum drivers you need is imperative for the future you desire and want to manifest.
Moving Forward to 2020
16 days into 2020, it is without a doubt that I have seen the last 3 years of developing momentum as key, pivotal parts of where I am today. Without exploring these different elements, I would not have discovered truths about myself and secrets about how to be more effective and impactful on this journey we call life.
How did I get Here?
- I envisioned myself in the future and where and who I wanted to be with
- I developed an understanding of what I needed to do in order to achieve these visions and goals
- I developed conscious habits and goals to help create momentum in achieving my desires at a faster rate
Habits I Have Recently Formed
1 - I wake up at 4:30am as much as I can.
Why?
If we assume that most people wake up at 6:30am, then I have the chance to gain 2 hours of productivity each and every morning.
Mathematically we can see it like this:
2 hours each day x 5 days a week = 10 hours saved
10 hours x 4 weeks in a month = 40 hours saved
40 hours x 12 months in a year = 480 hours
480 hours / 24 hours in a day = 20 days saved
20 days saved for you to create, develop, work out, meditate and to focus on your dreams, goals and desires.
2 - I focus on visualisations throughout my day.
The reason I am so driven by visualisations is because what we can believe we can perceive and what we perceive we can believe.
Visualisations have helped me pre-receive what I already believe I deserve.
If I can see it in my mind and believe I deserve to have it, I can have it - it just requires self believe, time and energy.
If you can believe it, the mind can achieve it. - Ronnie Lott
3 - Balance is the key to a happy life
What do I mean?
Well, with everything, we require a balance. For example, I need to read to feed my mind, eat to feed my body and have solitude to feed my soul. Without a clear cut balance between all three, I will fall out of balance.
This is also important in other aspects such as health, wealth and rest. It is important to rest as much as it is to work hard. It is important to not only lift weights in the gym, but also to stretch.
We are a combination of the body, mind and soul.
One thing I have also discovered is the power of solitude.
Solitude is the time where I can work through some internal thoughts, decisions and objectives. It is the time where there is nothing and everything happening at one very moment.
I have found that solitude can be the place where the greatest ideas are formed.
I have had some incredible lightbulb moments when I have had solitude.
Not only this, I have also found it to be the time where I do the most internal work - identifying key elements about myself that I was unconsciously aware of previously.
What is Solitude?
Solitude is the state of isolation which allows me to think in a quiet space.
Isolation is where I have chosen to spend time with myself, allowing me to be at one with myself.
W?ithout isolation, I would not be as productive and efficient in my every day life as I use isolation as a form of meditation and personal growth.
Solitude is when ideas are born and bred.
Happiness
Life is about finding what makes you happy.
We are all unique individuals who have different abilities, talents, interests and beliefs. Each of us need to spend time chasing our desires and finding time to do what we love.
When we find our own internal happiness, built on our own belief system and own ideology of what we believe our life is destined for, we will soon find peace. Happiness, in this context, can be selfish. Happiness is about doing anything and everything you love, without the fear of others.
Happiness is taking risks, creating your own paths and walking against the crowd. Everyone deserves their own version of happiness and no one person can determine what that is for you. As happiness is subjective, you can create your version of it. Meaning; do what you love and don't let anything or anyone stop you.
Find your habits and work towards positive goals, big or small.
Find consistency and develop momentum into an exponential future of positive choices, productive habits and the foundation of personal belief and passion.
Do what makes you happy and you will never work a day in your life.
