Small changes in life that can bring big results

“If nothing ever changed, there’d be no butterflies.”

It all begins with change. Change is the beginning of something new. And, if we are able to control that change for good, then there cannot be anything better.

“Want to bring a positive change in your worklife this year? Stop relying on emails and switch to ProofHub !”

We are moving towards the end of yet another year, changing towards a new year. So, why not bring some small changes in our life as well? Changes that work towards making our life better. Some small changes that can bring big results, both at personal as well as professional front.

What can be those changes? Well, I’ve tried to jot a small list. Take a look at it, and see if you could also relate to it -

Get up 15 minutes early

Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise. This is an age old saying. In present times, however, late to rise and even late to bed is what keeps us going instead.

But, a small change like getting up just 15 minutes earlier that usual can give a head-start to your day. Don’t believe me, give it a try for just one week. Wake up just 15 minutes earlier than usual for 7 days, and you will feel the difference. You can use this time to relax yourself, meditate, practice mindfulness, and what not.

When you will start your day on a positive not, you can expect your thoughts to be within control for the entire day. And, that is going to make a big difference in your life!

Do it now

Reached home late from office, tired, so thought of cleaning the dishes in the morning. Woke up late in the morning, so thought of cleaning and making up the bed when you return. There are so many examples of how we procrastinate.

But, a small change in life of doing things right now can bring a massive difference. By adopting this habit, you will see that everything has started to fall in its right place. You will no longer be living life like a vagabond.

The best thing is that you will no longer have to worry about things getting clubbed up, which were left undone the previous night. In a way, you will be able to get control over your life.

Exercise

The money, the fame, and everything else for which you are working to earn will be of no use, if you are not in good health. This is the reason that if you do not work out, you need to begin it as early as possible.

It could start with a fifteen minute brisk walk in the evening, or an early morning, or even half an hour of Yoga. All these practices are not going to consume a lot of your time or effort. But, the returns you will reap are going to be of great for your body.

Exercise not only keeps you vigorous it also makes sure there’s proper blood circulation to all parts of the body, including brain. And, that keeps you mentally more active and fit!

Be more tech savvy

In the world that we live in today, technology is changing so fast. Whether you talk about kitchen accessories or tools you use at the office, there are so many advanced options available to make life easy now.

For instance, if you've been using emails to manage work, you can switch to a project management tool. With advanced tools, you can even expect to get collaboration features as well. And, that can simplify your life to quite a large extent.

Over-reliance on technology can be bad. But, as long as you are able to simplify things using it, there is no harm in changing the way you work/do things.

Eat well

It’s an age old saying from Hippocrates - ‘Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food’. One of the most significant changes, which we all need to bring in our life, is to change the way we eat. We need to switch to a healthier diet.

Cutting down on soft/aerated drinks can be a great thing to begin with. Adding whole grains, natural food items like fruits and vegetables can work wonders. You can add productivity foods like cereals, berries, eggs, nuts, fish and dark chocolate to your diet. These can bring a definite positive change in your productivity.

Replace coffee with green tea. Reduce the amount of alcohol you consume. And, similar other small changes can lead to healthy lifestyle changes. And, make you a healthier, happier and more productive person than ever before!

Be kind

Kindness makes us powerful. Forgiveness makes us a better person. And, self-realization makes us a better human being. Showing empathy towards people you work with can be the first small change in your work life that can help you become a better person to work with.

If you show genuine feeling of kindness towards others, trust me you will feel empowered to do anything in life. Talk about any of the successful people, and they all have one thing in common - gratefulness. As a person if you start being kind to others, you will feel a sense of positivity around you.

The feeling of gratitude can change your world upside down for good. It does not take a lot of effort to become grateful in life. But, once you start doing it you will have a completely different perspective of looking at things in life.

Let go of old habits

Sometimes in life holding on to something does more harm than letting go. This is exactly what old habits do, especially the ones that are holding you back. For instance, being reluctant to try technology. Or, smoking habit.

Remember, we are a result of the choices we make. So, we need to make sure the choices better be good. Or, else at the end of it all we will be regretting not having taken the chances. Not having let go of the habits that were holding us back.

Whether it is a toxic relationship, a job we are stuck in, or a bad habit, you need to let go of it as soon as possible.

You don’t always have to take big steps to achieve greatness. Sometimes all it takes is these small, but meaningful changes that can help you become bigger in life. The points mentioned above might not appear as groundbreaking changes, but they are significant. And, once you will try them you will see a major change in life for sure!

Do give them a try, and share your experience!
