Companies and consumers alike were preparing for a fall that would feel similar to life in the before times. The delta variant has turned that on its head as it continues to sweep across the country, filling up hospitals and prompting mask mandates and other lockdown orders.

Instead of traveling, many are choosing to stay home and away from people, prompting an economic slowdown that is reverberating across businesses. In a new survey from Goldman Sachs, 88% of small business owners say the federal government should provide additional financial aid and 41% are concerned about their debt.?

Black entrepreneurs continue to struggle more than their peers, facing less cash in the bank as reserves dwindle and less access to capital, the survey found.

How has the fall slowdown impacted your business? Do you think there should be more aid available to small businesses??

To Cate Chapman and the Editors: This is probably one of the numerous times that Delta Air Lines, Delta Faucets and any other business, using "Delta" in their name are slapping their PR foreheads. My first thought was this article referred to "Delta Air Lines". Good public relations for businesses and organizations are more crucial in these day than ever. I remember reading an article by Delta Air Lines CEO, specifically, not calling it the "Delta Variant". I forget what term he used, but that was not it! I ask you to, please consider your headlines in future articles. #DeltaAirLInes #JordanDahl #CateChapman #DeltaFaucets
