Hello Friends and Fellow Business Owners,
Happy September!
My word for this week is Influence. Influence is the power to shape outcomes, guide decisions, and inspire action—without force or authority. As business owners, influence is one of our most valuable tools. It can impact how we lead our teams, connect with customers, and grow our businesses.
At its core, influence is about building trust and credibility. I’ve witnessed firsthand how the right amount of influence helped create a positive company culture and opened doors to new opportunities that were once closed.
Influential leaders lead through their actions. They consistently demonstrate the behavior and work ethic that they ask of people on their team. They are also clear and confident in communicating with their team; no messages are ambiguous or misconstrued.
Influential leaders also invest time building relationships by listening to others and understanding their needs. People are more likely to be influenced by those they know, like, and trust.
I believe that inspiring and influential leaders figure out ways to get ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Their success comes from helping others succeed, which is a winning formula!
Wishing you an influential and impactful September!
Peace,
Brian

Writing on LinkedIn, entrepreneur Krish Kanagenthiran says, “Influence is a powerful force that plays a crucial role in the success of any business. It is the ability to shape opinions, inspire action, and drive change.”
He adds that influence can be a key differentiator between success and failure in today's uber-competitive business world. And it’s crucial that entrepreneurs understand the concept of influence and “harness its potential to achieve long-term success.”
If you have influence, he writes, “You can shape opinions, inspire action, and drive change in your industry. Whether through thought leadership, social media presence, or a strong personal brand, embracing the power of influence is essential for thriving in the competitive business landscape.”

2. 4 Ways to Transform Company Culture
Some small business owners manage by the ‘my way or the highway’ method. That’s not only ineffective, but it’s also a sure way to stifle creativity and drive employees to find other jobs.
Instead, this article points out that it’s essential to lead by example, ensure your entire staff knows what other employees’ jobs are, and offer training and development opportunities. Most importantly, hire smart and spend time with your team. Management by walking around is far more effective than telling people what to do.
