Slowdown is Awesome, but Occasionally Enjoy Outdoor Activities During the Winter Season

Winter slows everybody down, which can be incredibly beneficial in many ways. Rest is so important. The natural pace of life during this season allows for much-needed downtime, peace, and introspection. It provides an opportunity to recharge and reflect on our goals and aspirations. However, this slowdown sometimes extends beyond certain boundaries and limits our ability to venture outdoors and fully embrace the beauty of nature. Therefore, it is important to find ways to engage in physical activity, even during these slower times, even when temperatures outside are subzero. By doing so, we can maintain our physical health and enhance our mental well-being.

In fact, embracing the crisp winter air and participating in activities such as running or working out can invigorate both our bodies and minds. Being in nature during winter can provide a sense of tranquility and awe-inspiring beauty. The snow-covered landscapes and quiet surroundings create a serene environment that can bring a sense of peace and calmness. Here in the Yukon, winter is really a wonderland. The wilderness around my cabin looks like a magical-land that inspires me to go outside, even when it's -40°C outside with windchill and feels like -50°C.

If you are not in the northern region, then your winter is likely to be milder than ours. However, cold weather can be felt anywhere, therefore don't hesitate to bundle up, step outside, and let the serenity of the winter wilderness fill your lungs with fresh air. Take a easy walk in the snow or try skiing, snowshoeing, or ice skating to embrace the unique opportunities that winter offers. Engaging in these activities not only helps us stay physically fit but also allows us to connect with nature and appreciate its wonders.

I have attached this video of myself below to gently reinforce the message. With this dance movement video, which I filmed outdoors in the depths of the snowy forest surrounding my cabin, I am sending forth an abundance of energy to inspire and motivate you to keep pushing forward.

Winter is often associated with a slower pace, but it can also be a time for personal growth and rejuvenation. Embrace the season and its connection to nature, and let it guide you towards a refreshed and revitalized self. Remember to allocate time, whether it's 15 minutes, half an hour, or an hour (or more if possible), for outdoor activities. Ultimately, achieving a balance between rest and physical activity is the key.
