The Slow Newsletter
Good afternoon. Welcome back to Tortoise’s weekly Slow Newsletter.?
A festival with a difference
Next June I’ll be standing in a field in sunny Oxfordshire, hula-hooping to the sounds of Grace Jones with a cup of wine in hand. A chance, finally, to satisfy the deep yearning to dance in a crowd of thousands of others. But also a chance, in true Tortoise style, to participate in a fiesta of ideas.
Those of you with good sense and good taste should book your early bird ticket now .?
I really hope we’ll see you at the Tortoise campsite. In the meantime here’s a little preview from the head of culture curation at Tortoise, Matthew d’Ancona.?

CBI
What’s that? Another Tortoise perk? Less song and dance, but still an excellent opportunity to hoover up some business knowledge. For the second year running, Tortoise members have the chance to join the CBI’s Annual Conference on 22-24 November. James and Liz are hosting the event and tickets, normally worth £550, are free for Tortoise members. The full speaker line up is still being confirmed but with last year’s speakers including Boris Johnson, Sir Keir Starmer, Baroness Dido Harding, Alison Rose, David Cameron and Mark Sedwill, it promises to be another fascinating event.
Please do sign up for free . You’ll need a company or organisation email address to register (CBI rules, I’m afraid)
Thanks for reading, that’s all for this week. As always I’d love for you to join us as a friend of Tortoise. Grab an annual membership for half price (just £50), click here and use the discount code KATIE50. We’d love to see you soon.
Katie.
