Slow is the new fast

Hey there!
With how fast-paced our world is becoming, we need to make an effort to slow down and reflect.
Why is reflecting essential??
It helps us reevaluate and realign our goals with our action plans. It brings clarity, makes us self-aware, and reminds us that we are human. When you are in a peaceful stance, it is reflection time.
Humble? Yes, we need to be able to really listen and accept feedback. It helps to understand that every feedback we receive, no matter how sugar-coated or brutally honest, is meant to help us grow in so many ways.
Self-aware? Yes, because through reflecting, we can figure out how much we have changed from our version of ourselves yesterday. We find out whether we are growing in the direction we aim for.
Through these little steps, we can see the bigger picture and be grateful for all our opportunities.
In my experience, I learned that although we have the "I have a dream" kind of blueprint, we also need to see the world around us through the eyes of our peers. Because there is this blind spot - an angle of ourselves that we are unaware of, but others can clearly see.
I have always been an advocate for giving feedback. During my many years of working in academia and with different organizations, I've always taken the time to provide positive feedback to peers and students. Just recently, I profoundly recognized why I actually do that:
While growing up, I missed this input from others that would have helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses to make better decisions about my life about whom I want to become. Today I want to provide that to people around me. so grow and become a better version of themselves.

Slow is the new fast.
I always thought that being slow was a bad thing. I take much time to observe and research and get comfortable in new situations or with new topics. It helps me to see all perspectives.
Many people are just speeding away, only reacting when problems and mistakes hit. This is not my way.
Remember, you need to stop and reflect before you move ahead.
Please share with me your thoughts about reflections and slowing down. Leave a comment below!

2 年Much more important than to define SPEED or SLOWING DOWN, is being able to develop our INNER-BALANCE, of THOUGHTS-EMOTIONS-FEELINGS-ACTIONS, but also attached deeply into acting always with an OBJECTIVE-CONSCIOUSNESS, based on what is TRUTH, OBJECTIVE-CONSCIOUSNESS, GROWING-UP FROM WITHIN, developing and sharing HUMAN-PRINCIPLES, LIKE "LOVE, RESPECT, CONSCIOUSNESS, BALANCE, and also always learning to GROW-UP FROM WITHIN! www.rickyradio.com
The speed it′s a problem of the World at this moment. Everything it′s so fast that people are not taking the small things of life that all of us should take as basis of it.
