Reflections on self-awareness!
?Here's an interesting real-life story that shows the magic of life, even when we slow down. This story took place on February 11th during a two-and-a-half-day workshop at Golibare Forest Camp, about three and a half hours from Bangalore. We had a team of 12 senior people, including the managing director who believed in the “holistic development” of people as the right approach for his organization.
?I've been working on supporting people to discover the depth of being human for many years, so I was happy to join his effort. The workshop was deeply touching and provided breakthroughs for the participants. It created a shift in being human and opened up possibilities for growth.
?These workshops aren't pressure cookers with strict time limits. They provide open, kind, non-judgmental spaces where people can be themselves and reflect on their lives. There's no forcing of time or work, making it a warm and accepting environment.
It showed us, how slowing down and focusing on the human aspect can bring about positive change and growth in our lives.
In the workshop, time is held lightly, allowing space and flexibility for people to reflect and share at their own pace. This gentle flow of emotions and thoughts can't be cut off by strict time boundaries, so we sometimes work late into the night.
?On the last day, we finished later than planned, which posed a challenge for my return to Bangalore Airport. However, I remained calm and focused on the journey ahead. The driver was both fast and yet pretty safe, which impressed me. As I took a nap during the ride, I felt at ease with his driving skills.
?A bit later he noticed that I had opened my eyes and he turned a bit, smiled and said “We're in good time, ?right ?” ?I said “Yeah, ?I'm admiring the way you're driving …you are a very good driver” I smiled.
His smile widened and he said, “sir, ?I don't know whether you'll remember… about 15 -20 years back you used to come to that Sonata company, at Basavangudi?”
I got a I got a shock of my life when he said that ! I said “yeah, ?of course” !

?Actually it was almost about 23-24 years back and he was talking about that and he said “you know sir you used to stay in Chancery Hotel”… “Oh my god, ?he even remembers the hotel where I used to stay”…
?He says “We all drivers used to enjoy picking up and dropping you sir “Now my heart is already starting to melt … and he continues “It was so nice sir because we used to chat with you when we drove; Even in those days sir you used to give us very graciously a tip of hundred rupees and that was a large amount those days…”
??I had melted and become water by this time…I looked up at the sky and I told God “You can't be kinder than this! how can I put a value to this gift …24 years later a cab driver remembers so much lovingly about you? …and all that you've done is to travel with him in a car for about half an hour - up and down- and he remembers you as a human being. ?he is in touch with you at a heart level he's connected with you as a soul !”
?what is this magic?
As I got down, I hugged him ?and we took a selfie
?Something deep down says “This magic is the truth for all of us, ?as human beings, ?as people who can live from the heart”… as people “who can see yourself in others and others in you”.
?Thank you divinity for continuing to strengthen and reinforce my belief about the goodness of being human

1 年Raja Krishnamoorthy, Sir, the lives of those around us provide profound insights into the dynamics of action and motivation! Whenever I travel and use a cab, I make it a point to engage in conversation with the drivers to learn more about them, their lives, and their motivations. Often, individuals who take pride in their work exhibit exemplary behaviour, maintaining their cabs impeccably clean, conversing with customers about their destinations, and sharing their own stories. Conversely, those who view the job merely as a source of income tend to be preoccupied with their phones, listening to music, or chatting with colleagues. Today, finding good customer service has become a rarity.
