Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s what we’re grateful for this year

It’s strange to think that this time last year we had no idea of the turbulence that would come our way in 2020. Most of us hadn’t heard of the term ‘coronavirus’. We were simply looking forward to happy holidays with loved ones.

This Thanksgiving may be very different – Zoom gatherings? Turkey for one? – but there are still many things to be thankful for. Not having to endure your Aunt Jean’s lumpy gravy is just one of them.

A time to reflect

Even if you’re in a part of the world that doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving, there’s no denying this is a good time for reflection. It’s a time to look back on what’s passed, and look forward to a fresh year. That’s what we’ve been doing here at Roc Search.

As with so many businesses, the pandemic has had a big impact on our company. The recruitment market at large has been affected, and we’ve had to adapt how we operate. But we’ve strived to find the positives. For example, being able to work collaboratively as a team, when we’re not all in one place, will serve us well long after the pandemic is over. That’s just one thing we’re grateful for this Thanksgiving.

Counting our blessings

We’re also grateful for our amazing team. As a business, we’ve worked hard to protect our people and safeguard their jobs, because we firmly believe people are our strongest asset. Our incredible employees have endured 2020’s uncertainties and challenges with grace and grit. They’ve worked tirelessly to support our clients and keep delivering the same quality service, come what may. And that’s another thing we’re grateful for: all our Roc Search clients. We’re thankful that so many businesses continue to trust us with their hiring needs – and we’re thankful for our fantastic pool of technology and engineering contractors, who choose us to take their career to the next level.

Thanks to our clients, contractors and staff, we’ve been able to keep the business pushing forwards. As we look ahead to 2021, we genuinely believe we’re in a stronger position than ever. Our plan is to continue to grow next year, and to carry on providing an unrivaled recruitment service.

My last note is - my biggest learn from this year has been to truly show compassion wherever possible. Be kind, be empathic and just be a good human.

Happy Thanksgiving all.
