1.????This Week's Hot Tips:
I want to preface this week’s hot tips with I don’t think I am overly sensitive…
Entrepreneurship has been a journey in self-development that has built my resilience my and ability to receive, filter, and apply feedback.?BUT LAST WEEK… I felt slighted and my feelings were hurt. I chewed on it, tasted it, and decided where to file this experience. You would be proud of how maturely I handled this brief moment in time that won’t make my memoirs. I am sure there is still room to grow :-)
I will spare you all of the details, but here are three steps I implemented to move through the experience.

3. Reading Recommendation: How to Work with Almost Anyone.
First, I want to say I am a lucky ducky to get my hands on an advance copy. Second, move with a sense of utmost urgency to pre-order your copies today.?
I love big hairy ambitious goals (BHAG). so I love that ?? Michael Bungay Stanier has set his intention to start a movement to improve 10 million working relationships.
Available on Tuesday, June 27th, this quick actionable read embodies three words: hopeful, practical, and accessible. This book is three parts management, two parts coaching, one part relationship therapy, and ALL practical. If you work with other human beings, this is the book you need to get you to the next level of leadership, management, and collaboration. On Sunday night after reading the first three chapters, I recommended it to three friends who vented about work on their days off this weekend. It is a must-read.

5. Ask Keita:
Q. Hello Keita! I have been in business for several years. When I was first starting out, I was connected to an influential leader who essentially did not see the value in my business, did not see an opportunity to work with one another, and rudely told me so. The whole interaction was a bit strange, and I have not had a long conversation with them since.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, said leader is now an entrepreneur who is struggling. They asked for my help, but I haven’t forgotten. What should I do?
A. Coming in hot with an excellent question this week. I suggest checking in with yourself and your feelings about the previous interaction. Sounds like a significant amount of time has passed. Hopefully, you both have grown as individuals. You have multiple options for a path forward.
You can recalibrate and communicate if you want to move forward with this relationship.?I think it is worth an honest conversation. (Perhaps, do a little reading on how to best prepare for this convo... see this week's reading recommendation).
Or, you can nourish yourself with a no (I can’t take credit for this one. My amazing friend Sarah B shared it with me). You don’t have to overextend yourself, especially if you have felt devalued in the past.
Thank you for spending a few minutes with me. If you feel like you are in neutral rather than drive, let's chat .
Let's get after it!
