A sliding glass roof for a new London gastro pub opening Spring 2018.
THE FOX & PHEASANT | a sliding glass roof work in progress.
Breezefree are delighted to have been invited to design, engineer, supply and install a 8m x 6m double pitched Solaglide sliding glass roof, complete with galvanised steel substructure and perimeter lead flashings for Chelsea's latest gastropub.
The Solaglide fits with millimetre precision into the walled rear courtyard of this old pub, and with glazing opening down to the eaves, provides retractable over-head cover with insulated glass for the primary dining room of this new Gastropub, due to open Spring 2018.
The eaves-opening sliding glass roof allows for maximum ventilation and sunlight penetration, whilst constraining noise levels to the surrounding residential properties and also reduces the imposed loadings on to the steel substructure central ridge beam eliminating the need for central support columns.
Steve Bailey, from architects Atelier iad ltd, commented :- “Our client introduced us to Breezefree at a very early stage in the project and they have proven to be extremely helpful in terms of design and also at the planning stage.
Great care was taken at the time of survey to achieve the maximum internal area and the information supplied by Breezefree has been very helpful to our contractors when installing the foundations.
The installations were carried out without any problems and we now have a great usable space where the glazed roof can be opened up to enjoy alfresco dining in the centre of London.
We have already recommended Breezefree to our other clients, their product is flexible enough to be used on commercial or residential projects.”
