Slidebean Media: A not-so-fast experiment?

After 3 whole months and an investment that reached $10,000, we finally launched a special Company Forensics episode about one of the most interesting parts of Apple’s story: That time when Microsoft wrote a check to save them from bankruptcy.
This is one of my favorite stories and I know it’s one of the most inspiring ones for founders and entrepreneurs overall. I personally believe it’s our best Company Forensics episode yet, and we worked very passionately on it. Eager to read your comments below, by the way.
It gave us the opportunity to fully produce it along with a dream-team, where each member has a filmmaker living inside of them.
But it took us over 50+ previous stories of failed and successful companies to get the know-how and the capabilities to pivot.
Each new video: A new experiment
We could have gone all-in on our YouTube channel from day 1. With all the equipment and all the staff to launch with videos similar to this one. I’m sure we could’ve pulled off pretty decent content but, what about our audience?
Back then, they weren’t that many (we’re reaching 200K subs as we speak) and we didn’t know for sure what they liked and what they didn’t. So we had to experiment with each new video and that, against other types of faster experiments I tend to like more, needed time and tracking.
With each launched episode, we slowly but surely adapted our storytelling and format to what we measured worked best, without leaving our unique voice behind.
Three months ago, we felt we were ready to take things to the next level.
When to pivot?
We will closely take a look at this specific video, as it is a sample of what our YouTube channel can become.
What if we drastically pivot the production quality of our videos? Can Slidebean Media become a thing of its own?
Happy to read all your comments and feedback, as it’ll help us answer these questions better.

4 年I've always wondered if the YouTube content marketing strategy of Slidebean was going to end up becoming a successful revenue generating YouTube channel in its own right!
I walk with architects so they become great entrepreneurs.
