As promised - today is the day I lay it out bare! First, I’d like to introduce the new format of The BoldType Spotlight and how it will appear going forward. In an effort to make it more newsworthy and in keeping with the theme / purpose that it serves; the new look BoldType will be as follows:

Spotted : The final icing to The BoldType newsletter is a signature piece that will cast a spotlight on ESG and Social Impact investors / investments, NGOs and other inspiring organisations that are ‘spotted’ doing or leading conversations about making humans matter more than brands. To this end, I want to start off by promoting my monthly operation Random Acts Of Compassion on Social [R.A.C.S.] to spur on action on things that really matter to humanity. They say, Action Changes Things [A.C.T], so let's practice it now.

In this?issue; as the title of this newsletter suggests; its a play on title for the so many souls who are sleepless in Seattle literally due to being afflicted by a medical condition of sorts. This subject is something personal to me that I’ve never shared before. Something wild; but down to earth close to my heart because I’m dedicating the first Spotted feature to my nephew Richard whom I love to the moon and back!

Updated: 28.2.23: Richard H Limula is 29 years old, and he has a rare cancer called CNS Primary central nervous system Lymphoma, rarely found in young Adults like Richard. Its terminal. He has been receiving care from Alvord Brain Tumor Center at UW Medical Center. He is currently at Bailey-Boushay House (206) 322-5300 2720 E Madison St, Seattle, WA 98112.

Richard enjoys sports, Soccer, Basketball, and Music concerts. We do not know how much longer we'll have Richard. The message has been clear its not a lot of time. He is a big fan of the Lakers & Manchester United

Richard has been fighting cancer for the last 8 months, he is my nephew (my late sister's youngest son) but to me he is my Kasuli - baby boy! This is a personal battle for me and my family; and it's something I've never shared on social media before; but after my visit to Seattle, I got moved to do act - do something!

Cancer treatment/care is expensive & insurance has its limitations. The funds raised will go to covering expenses associated with his care, such as Bills, transportation, medication and other costs. In equal measaure, thanks to the caring, hard work and compassionate Haborview Medical Center [HMC], there is a lot of help available to people who are most vulnerable are sleeping rough medically.
