Sleep Is For The Weak - Log 06

Recapping The Week

Alright, this is the first week of a new strategy for Forefront IT Executive Consulting . I'm trying to explain what a vCIO is and does, so I've included a dictionary excerpt to help you understand.

Virtual Chief Information Officer | vee cee eye o | (abbr. vCIO) The vCIO collaborates with and advises clients' IT departments and performs the same functions as a conventional CIO. Those duties include formulating strategic IT goals, planning the IT budget, analysing and reworking business processes and facilitating technology changes.

Now that we have that description of what a vCIO is, we must market it. I find this challenging as someone who helps grow our visibility and doesn't actually do the vCIO work. I imagine it's similar to being the manager of a Hollywood actor. "Hey, I'm calling on behalf of this talented person. You're going to want to see them, I promise!" (winks) This brought me a lot of headaches and even a few disagreements during the week. However, after brainstorming, we figured out our best approach to targeting our new focused service and who we want to aim to attract.

Networking Until Your Face Falls Off

I was dreading last Thursday. The events on my calendar for that day loomed over me as I would be working non-stop from 6 a.m. to well past 8 p.m. Let's do those numbers together: 6 - 8 is over 14 hours. You better believe I'm giving my boss a piece of my mind. Oh, wait, I work for myself... But like a good trooper, I soldiered on smiling and engaging with everyone I could as authentically as possible. And it wasn't bad but fun, informative, and impactful. I've booked many meetings from that one day of power networking this upcoming week, so it will be interesting to see the results pushing me through the day that gets Forefront. Shoutout to Marissa Mascaro for inviting me to her BNI Chapter BNI Platinum ONE , The NOW Group for my AU/NZ virtual marketing and GLOBE Victoria for my LGBTQIA+ professionals.

Dangerously In Love

Now, I could pretend that my lack of sleep this week has been because I was working tirelessly on building up the business and working out. It's not a lie, but we're missing something incredible that happened.

Yours indeed has scored Beyoncé Cowboy Carter tickets in London for this June! As someone who's been working and hasn't left Australia in nearly five years, I'm beyond excited. Once we touch down in Europe, this video will explain how the trip will go.

In all seriousness this is such a blessing. It will be the first international trip with my spouse and my best friend who is equally a bigger Beyhive fan to me will be coming. I cannot wait to relive my old times in Europe and make new memories. It's moments like this that make working so hard worth it and losing some sleep staying up till 2 a.m. to score tickets.

Wrapping Up A Busy Week

Work hard, party harder they say. Well thats what I did. This busy week ended with a celebration of another American icon that moved down under, my friend Bridget Bolotin had her birthday! We took to a stormy Melbourne afternoon on a boat with a mission, eat drink and be merry. Despite the rather winter-like weather we had a blast. Hears to you Bridget! After hours of partying and immaculate house music - props to you, DJ. I finally ended my week doing what I should have done more of. Sleeping.

So like you see in the picture. I'm taking a well deserved break.
