Skinny Lager and Skinny IPA both win at Free-From Food Awards

Skinny Lager and Skinny IPA have both been chosen amongst the winners of ‘Best Gluten Free Beer’ at the Free-From Food Awards.

As the UK’s only award that recognises all aspects of free from food and drink, it’s a real testament to have both SkinnyBrands beers chosen for their quality, appearance and taste.

The awards celebrate safe and quality free-from products, and the instantly recognisable logo provides customer reassurance. Since the launch of these awards in 2008, the carefully curated panel of expert judges provide feedback and take all aspects of the product category into consideration.

Skinny Premium Lager was said to “strike a balance between being a light, easy-to-drink beer and a low-calorie option, making it perfect for social occasions without the guilt. Its appealing amber colour and proper beer-like appearance ensure it fits right into any gathering. A great choice for those looking to enjoy a beer without overindulging in calories.”

Skinny IPA “offers a visually appealing light caramel colour and an enticing fruity aroma rare in gluten free options. Its reasonable price and low calorie content make it an attractive option for those looking for a lighter beer experience.”

As a full-flavoured premium lager and an IPA, it is a unique achievement to lovingly brew a lager and IPA that have fewer calories but don’t compromise on the taste.

The Coeliac Society Certified Gluten-Free beers meet the strict range of criteria set out and closely monitored by the Coeliac Society to ensure both ingredients and our production process are gluten-free. It includes testing for gluten using a UKAS accredited laboratory which is done for EVERY batch.

Not only are both beers gluten-free and vegan, they’re a fantastic option for anyone looking for a lower calorie or lower carb alternative, with 35% fewer calories than other premium lagers and 40% fewer than other premium IPAs. This is because the residual carbohydrates are removed during the brewing process so that there are only 3g of carbohydrates per 330ml bottle or can of Skinny Lager and 2.6g of carbohydrates per 330ml bottle or can of Skinny IPA.

It’s a proud moment for both beers to be commended on their uniqueness as a gluten-free option, accessibility as a low calorie choice, and most of all, their fantastic taste.
