Men also need to take special care of their skin. They tend to have not only thicker skin but also oiler skin due to larger sebaceous glands and because they shave daily and there are more chances of nicks and cuts.
We have heard umpteen times that drinking 8 glasses of water every day is a must for a glowing skin. Water helps to flush out toxins from the body and keeps the skin soft and elastic. Drinking water especially with two sliced lemons really starts to change skin for the better. Having healthy skin is amazing but having healthy, moist skin is even better.
Eat wisely. Many of us indulge a lot in junk and fried food. Practice portion control whenever you have this kind of food. Instead of eating fatty foods high in sodium every day, why not just eat them once a week, or eat in a small plate to control the potions. Greasy fried food and junk food with lots of added flavors etc., can ruin your skin leading to pimples, acne etc. Eating wisely will help your digestive system. Most cases of bad skin come from the things we eat, so pay close attention.
Removing dead skin is a must. Keeping your skin exfoliated is something we all know we should be doing. One can either buy a good exfoliater or make one at home. Take few grains of sugar on your palm and add few drops of lemon. Rub the grains in between your hands to smooth out the pointy edges. Now, rub your face gently with this scrub.
Another nice trick can be to rinse your face with warm water and than take a tablespoon of salt into the palm of one hand and place it on the bar of soap. Make sure the soap is wet. Massage your face with the solution in an upward motion to avoid any wrinkles and sagging. Rinse your face clean with warm water. Do not rub for a long time as this will generate heat, causing skin burn.
Keeping safe from sun rays should be a part of your life. This will not only lower your chances of being diagnosed with skin cancer but it will also help you to keep your skin healthy. Use sun block when outdoors. Cover your head and carry an umbrella.
Its best to shave during your shower time preferably with warm water. Make sure that your face is nicely wet. Invest in a good quality shaving brush and cream. Shave in the direction of the beard growth. Rinse with warm water and soothe the face with an after shave lotion
